Thin resin-sized card stock provides a great undercolor for oil and acrylic paintings. It's possible to paint directly on them, but we recommend a coat of clear acrylic gesso or gel medium to make these panels less absorbent. Very lightweight and compact, good for use while traveling. Tan color. Made in the USA. 1/32" thick. 10 sheets per pack.

History: Post-impressionist painters like Toulouse-Lautrec and Eduard Vuillard used tan card stock for oil painting. Guerrilla Cartón Board™ is a thin resin-sized card stock that is far more permantent than that used by those famous painters. We think of this panel as a super-thin (1/32") "Masonite" - but with a twist. The fibers are impregnated with a resin that keeps the "Masonite" from warping when it gets wet, or protecting the fibers from the deleterious effects of oils.
One nifty property of Guerrilla Cartón™ is that it does not buckle when wet, so it is possible to prime with gesso or gel mediums and it still lays flat. Take advantage of these thin, light-weight panels in the field and then use acrylic medium or some similar adhesive to mount your finished paintings on Museum Board, Masonite or Gatorfoam before framing.
Carl says: "I've been painting on this surface for more than 20 years and it has held up very well. After being taped to the roof of my greenhouse for a year, it showed some slight fading - ending up about 10% lighter in shade."

They feature a beautiful warm white surface that has just the right amount of tooth and absorbency for traditional oil and acrylic techniques. Two coats of specially formulated acrylic gesso are applied to a substrade of 1/8" hight-density tempered hardboard.
