History
Initially, Carl and his son Arthur were constructing the 9x12 Guerrilla Box™ in their woodshop for local plein air painters one at a time, and after selling a handful of them and realizing the need for this product (and general lack of anyone else doing it) the business was born. The 9x12 box, the original Guerrilla Box, was introduced back in 1999 and it has remained our most popular model.

“The Guerrilla Box incorporates all the features that were refined from my many versions in the early years: wood laminate construction, universal tripod mount, adjustable lid hardware, harness leather handle and closure straps. The simple idea behind this design is ‘a complete studio in a box – open the lid, begin painting, close the lid and go.’”
Accessories for the 9x12 Guerrilla Box™
9x12 Palette Extension
Right and left hinged palette extensions allow you to double your working space. Includes parking slots for the Hang-Up Brush Caddy and holes to rest brushes. Birch plywood and aluminum. Little metal "feet" keep it elevated above your palette when closed (note: remove the "feet" when used in conjunction with the Backpacker Watercolor Palette or Covered Palette Tray). Easily attaches into existing pilot holes.
(NOTE: With the Palette Extension Kit installed, you will be able to carry fewer wet panels in the Guerrilla Box lid.)

9x12 Slip-In Easel
This simple lightweight corregated enameled aluminum panel with aluminum shelf holds panels in an elevated position and stores neatly in the lid. Allows the use of more gestural brush strokes on 12x16 or smaller panels because your painting is held out away from the lid. Adjustable metal fingers adjust to hold panels up to 12" high by any width. You can also paint smaller (4x6) if you turn the panel "upside down" so that the aluminum shelf on the Slip-In Easel is at the top, and insert the metal fingers on that side of the Slip-In Easel. When using panels taller than 12", use with the Panel Tie Down Strap (included with the 9x12 Guerrilla Box™). When using larger panels (12 x 16 up to 18 x 24) and a tripod, we recommend the Tripod Stone Bag for added stability. For best results, use with Panel Adapter Clips (included with the 9x12 Guerrilla Box™).
(NOTE: The Slip-In Easel limits the carrying capacity of the Guerrilla Box to one wet panel.)

Telescoping Easel for the 9x12 Guerrilla Box™
This super compact Telescoping Easel attaches to the lid of the 9x12 Guerrilla Box™ using existing screw holes. Never needs to be removed. Allows the box to holds panels or canvases up to 20" high. Use alone or in combination with the Slip-In Easel (see above).

Brush Tray for the 9x12 Guerrilla Box™
One of our most popular accessories. Fits perfectly under the sliding palette and leaves room in the Guerrilla Box for storing up to ten 37-ml paint tubes or other supplies underneath it. Birch plywood. When the box is in use cllamp your Brush Tray to the side of your Guerrilla Box™ or to the end of the palette to expand your workspace while painting.

Adapter Set

Guerrilla Cartón™ Plein Air 9x12 Panels (10-pack)
Thin resin-sized card stock provides a great undercolor for oil and acrylic paintings. It's possible to paint directly on them, but we recommend a coat of clear acrylic gesso or gel medium to make these panels less absorbent. Very lightweight and compact, good for use while traveling. Tan color. Made in the USA. 0.03" thick. 10 sheets per pack.
